Avebury; The World Heritage Site

Yesterday Coryell, Tyanin, Chloe, and I all went to an old village called Avebury. Its about 40 min. from where we live and is known for what is called the Stone Circle; a bunch of rocks standing up in a perfect circle around the city. It looks very similar to Stonehendge, and was thought to have been built 4500-5000 years ago. The coolest part was we got to walk around and touch them! Why did those people stand a bunch of gigantic rocks up that long ago? It was bizarre! Another question I had was HOW? Anyway, after walking around and trying to pet the cool sheep, we went to another place that Avebury was known for... A giant mound of mud, gravel, and clay that was in the shape of a pyramid. It was called Silbury Hill and was thought to have built around the time of the Circle. Some of the paths that we walked on looked to be hundreds of years old and it was a neat experience touching, and seeing the same things that other people did such a long time ago.
